February’s Topic in the WNYSEA’s Reitan Speaker Series will be: Addressing Climate Change in the Great Lakes: React or Adapt?! Our Featured Speaker will be Terry Yonker: - Co-Chair of the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative, WNY Energy Alliance member and WNY Sustainable Energy Association Trustee

Terry Yonker’s talk will include the science and the probable impacts of global warming on the climate of the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem all within the context of a changing world climate. He will discuss impacts on energy production, shipping, pollution, habitat, economic development, and public health and explore options of collaboration to reduce the carbon footprint of the bi-national Great Lakes Region.

All talks are free and open to the public!

"Zero Waste Construction and it’s Impact on the Building Industry"

Tuesday, March 20, 2012 –7 pm, at Hallwalls 341 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY Prof. Christopher Romano, UB School of Architecture & Planning, and his students will give an exciting and informative presentation on how to build sustainably without creating enormous industrial construction waste! Prof. Romano has spearheaded three Zero Waste Construction projects in the city of Buffalo!
